Recession results in auto businesses abandoning alternatives to illegal street racing. Source: President's Office Sadly the economic recession has adversely impacted automotive and motorsports businesses/associations. To many business entities, pursuing what is “right,” creating alternatives to illegal street racing, is often perceived as a liability to their survival. As such many businesses have cut these “expendable” programs in an effort to restore immediate relief to their fiscal crisis. The cost of abandoning Street Scene based programs may appear necessary to an accountant’s balance sheet; however, it is at the expense of future business growth and most importantly saving lives. It is very disappointing to learn of motorsports associations with gross receipts in excessive of 100 million dollars believe that releasing a public service announcement on social networking site such as YouTube as the primary effort to deter illegal street racing is a sufficient measure in addressing the problem. “When one door closes, another window opens.” Where many businesses falter Evo Street Racers commitment to creating sustainable alternatives to illegal street racing has only been strengthened. Evo is proud to confirm that the business model we operate on has remained unaffected by the economic crisis as we adapt and reinvent processes and ideas into new opportunities and innovative solutions. Evo’s success during these challenging times has been clearly demonstrated in many new programs ranging from motorsports events to educational programs/studies and everything in-between. Evo is in the planning and launching stage of numerous Street Scene based motorsports events in Indiana, Nevada, West Virginia, Michigan, and Illinois. Evo’s database on all subjects related to illegal street racing set the new standard in recording the activity; however, we didn’t stop there. Utilizing our propriety database, the department of Studies and Research has recently released groundbreaking studies on Illegal Street Racing. Never-before released studies explore topics once considered impossible to obtain statistics and trends of the illegal activity including the “Fatality Statistics Study,” “Illegal Street Racing Dictionary,” and soon to be released “Illegal Street Racing Locations and Vehicles Study.” In 2003 Evo Street Racers core competency was founded on a challenging spirit to the illegal street racing status quo.
