Street racer on Highway 167 collides with truck, sent to hospital Source: Seattle Times A driver who crashed into a truck while street racing at extremely high speeds along Highway 167 Monday night was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries, the state patrol said. The driver, a 22-year-old Kent man, was racing another car southbound on the highway near South 180th Street shortly before 10 p.m. A 911 caller told dispatchers that the two cars were racing as fast as 120 mph, said state patrol spokesman Cliff Pratt. The Kent man, who struck a DOT truck in an HOV lane that was closed for construction, was taken to Harborview Medical Center with skull fractures, said Pratt. The DOT worker in the truck was not injured, he said. The driver of the other car, a 19-year-old from Kent, was booked into King County Jail on investigation of vehicular assault.
