Alleged Street Racing Accident Shuts Down The Danforth

An alleged street racing incident in the east end left one person briefly trapped inside a wrecked vehicle.

It happened around 10:30pm Wednesday on Danforth Avenue near Woodbine. The two-car crash prompted police to close off the east end strip for about an hour as they conducted their investigation.

Police contend two vehicles were speeding when one veered into two parked cars. No one was hurt but two people, including a 19-year-old woman, face street racing charges. Their licences were suspended and their vehicles seized.
