Street racing is blamed for a fatal accident in San Elizario yesterday and two men are facing serious charges.

22 year old Alberto Valdez is charged with racing on a highway causing death. Deputies say he was racing another man on Socorro Road, when 21- year- old Ana Elva Morales pulled into the intersection of Herring Road and Socorro Road. Valdez was able to stop but the other man allegedly t- boned Morales's vehicle. Morales was killed, her four year old daughter and one year old son were injured. Investigators say the man who hit Morales will face manslaughter charges. Neighbors who witnessed the accident say its not the first time they've seen racing on their road. Deputies say the two cars were racing at up to 100 miles per hour before the collision. Morales's SUV landed under a tree next to a house. The woman who lives there says street racing on Socorro Road is nothing new.

If you're caught street racing you could be arrested on the spot and face more serious charges if anyone is hurt or killed.
